Every year InfoWorld recognizes the top free and open products for business, IT, and personal productivity for the Best of Open Source Software, the BOSSIES. Chosen by InfoWorld Test Center editors, analysts, and reviewers, InfoWorld’s annual Best of Open Source Software awards (or Bossies, for short) celebrate the best products that open source has to offer: the best free software on the planet for businesses, their IT staffs, and their employees’ workstations.

This year, we’re proud to announce that Hyperic HQ has won the BOSSIE for Best Application Monitoring. Some of their other picks included industry leaders in open source like OpenOffice.org for office productivity suite, Snort for network intrusion detection, Splunk for security log analysis, SugarCRM for customer relationship management, Alfresco for content management (CMS), Asterisk for IP telephony.
