  • Larry Dignan writes about a study that has shown the staggering rise in enterprise IT investment since 1994, from $3.5k per employee then, to $8k now
  • Merrill Lynch estimates that by 2011, the cloud computing market will reach $100 billion

    HQ 3.2.4 is Now Available

    It’s time for a new addition to the HQ 3.2 family.  HQ 3.2.4 is now available and ready for download. This release is a roll-up of the bug fixes since HQ 3.2.3.

    For a rundown of the fixes available in HQ 3.2.4, check out the Release Notes for the high level summary and a link to more detail to determine if you should consider upgrading to 3.2.4.

    Who needs monitoring when you have Valleywag & TechCrunch?

    It looks like Google Apps suffered a brief outage this morning. How did we find out? Well, from Valleywag of course. After all, the best place to get the status of key cloud based applications and infrastructure is also the same place where you can find out the latest gossip about the valley. Seems natural, right? No thanks.

    More proof that for all the benefits the cloud offers, it’s still just one lousy powerstrip/drunk ops guy/evil hax0r away from being just a 500 error page with an old logo on it. Good thing we’re working on adding Google’s cloud services to CloudStatus.com! Stay tuned…
