SAN FRANCISCO, CA, October 11, 2007 - Hyperic Inc., the leader in multi-platform, open source systems and applications management, today announced that it closed a record number of customers, and achieved a number of other corporate milestones in the quarter ending September 30, 2007.
In the third quarter, marked by the release of Hyperic HQ 3.1, Hyperic increased its number of total enterprise customers by 39 percent over the previous quarter. Key wins for some of the market's most demanding and complex websites and web services highlighted Hyperic's ability to help companies save time and money when managing large infrastructure environments and operations teams. Significantly, these and other customers are deploying Hyperic HQ at scale-managing 1000s of servers with tens of 1000s of metrics per minute. Customer wins for the quarter included, Achieve Healthcare Technologies, Current Media, Digital Insight, Future Route, MobiTV, Mosso, The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Net-a-Porter and The University of California at San Diego, among others.
Hyperic now supports more than 1,500 production deployments across more than 80 countries. In response to this growing global presence, the company initiated an expansion to include India and Germany.
Hyperic rounded out its leadership team with the addition of Paul Melmon as senior vice president of engineering, and expanded its technical and support staff around the world.
On the product front, last quarter Hyperic released both its open source and enterprise editions of Hyperic HQ 3.1. The new commercial edition incorporates all of the features in Hyperic HQ 3.1, as well as "follow the sun" alerting which dramatically simplifies the management of 24x7 or rotating support teams; and a new Report Center that provides enterprise-class reporting through Hyperic's partnership with JasperSoft. Hyperic HQ 3.1 was awarded "Best Systems Management Product" at LinuxWorld in August.
"Many of today's businesses live and die by their technology infrastructure. They must keep their services running at 100 percent while also adding all the applications and back-end infrastructure needed to keep up with their exploding growth," said Javier Soltero, CEO of Hyperic. "This is very difficult to do, and Hyperic HQ's cross-platform approach helps them meet the challenge. It is extremely rewarding that our approach has resonated so fully in the market and we look forward to continuing to deliver innovative products that address the market's needs."
Hyperic provides open source systems monitoring and management software that reduces the workload for operations teams at the world’s biggest web companies, including Microsoft, CNET Networks, hi5 Networks, Contegix, Rackspace’s Mosso, and more.
Its award-winning Hyperic HQ software auto-discovers and updates asset inventory and allows operations teams to perform cross-platform monitoring, diagnostics and control from a remote, web-based console, helping them more quickly pinpoint, correct, and prevent problems at every major layer—including hardware, networks, virtualization and applications.
