SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., July 18, 2007 - Hyperic Inc., the leader in multi-platform, open source systems management, today named Paul Melmon senior vice president of engineering. Having held senior executive positions at both Wily Technology and at Pets.com, Melmon brings more than 20 years of engineering excellence, strategic vision and exceptional execution in both infrastructure tooling and online business to his role. At Hyperic, Melmon will oversee the strategy and implementation of all engineering, development, support and product management for the company.
Prior to Hyperic, Melmon served as vice president of corporate and business development at Wily, a provider of application management solutions acquired by CA in March of 2006. At Wily, he was responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of all technology partnerships and merger and acquisition activity. During his tenure at Wily, Melmon was also vice president of research and development, overseeing all design, development, and delivery of products. Before Wily, Melmon was CIO at Pets.com, where he led the team that defined and developed the company's technology and operations infrastructure.

Earlier in his career, Melmon held engineering and management positions at Wallop Software, Scopus Technology, Sybase and Hewlett-Packard.

CloudStatus Provides Free, Real-Time Performance Information for Amazon Web Services
Velocity Conference—San Francisco, Calif.—June 23, 2008 – Open source web infrastructure management provider Hyperic Inc., (Velocity Booth #6), today launched the beta of Hyperic CloudStatus, the first service to provide an independent view of the health and performance of the most popular cloud on the Internet, Amazon Web Services (AWS). The new service gives businesses that use the cloud the perspective they need to determine the cause of performance changes in their cloud-based web applications. CloudStatus beta is a free service built on the Hyperic HQ management platform and will expand to include additional cloud providers this summer.
