Hyperic Generates Significant European Momentum With New Customer Wins

Company will expand operations to Europe in 2008

PARIS – Open Source Solutions Linux Conference – January 30, 2008 – Hyperic Inc., a leading open source web infrastructure management software provider, today announced continued overseas growth with several new customers in Europe, including Net a Porter, CH5 Finland, Banca Popolare di Sondrio, Star Data, Future Route and Domino IT.

With deployments in more than 80 countries, and 37% of community activity coming directly from Europe, Hyperic has increased its European presence, hiring community managers for Germany and Spain, with plans to hire more in the coming months. The company will continue to expand its footprint in Europe throughout 2008.

“When we were getting ready to release Validis, our web application which analyzes accounting data, we realized we needed a management software that could support very aggressive growth projections,” said Matt Wanless, systems manager of Future Route, a UK-based developer of artificial intelligence based data analysis software. “Hyperic HQ was the perfect solution, not only could it scale to meet demand, it was quick to deploy and easy to maintain. We can provide our customers with the 24/7 operations they expect, and solve problems before our customers even know they exist. The flexibility of the Hyperic architecture means that we’ve written a custom application specific plugin, which significantly adds to the value of the solution.”

“Virtualization is a critical element of our infrastructure and we chose Hyperic because of its VMware support,” said Antti Perkiomaki, support manager of Ch5, a web services provider in Finland. ”We deployed Hyperic in record time, and immediately began receiving metrics and information not only about our virtual environment, but also our internally developed proprietary software—all in one single view. As a result, our ops team has been able to focus on new, business critical projects, instead of keeping the system running.”

Hyperic’s European growth comes on the heels of strong momentum across a number of fronts, including the launch of Hyperic HQ 3.2 (also announced today); a development partnership with Red Hat; two new OEM partnerships, with SpringSource and IONA, making Hyperic the de facto choice for open source companies looking to integrate management tools into their products; and more than 100 new customers worldwide during the second half of 2007.

"Europe has a proven appetite for open source technologies, and we have seen tremendous demand for Hyperic HQ in the region," said Hyperic CEO Javier Soltero. "Many of our European customers are pushing the limits of web infrastructure management in their deployments, and demanding more affordable, sophisticated solutions for their management tools. As the leader in web infrastructure management, we’re committed to building out our presence in Europe to support the market demands.”
