LAM-J Monitoring & Management

Hyperic HQ's comprehensive support for open source management makes it ideally suited for managing LAM-J based applications. By combining HQ's support for Linux, Apache, MySQL, and any of the various open source Java technologies used in LAM-J, HQ offers users the ability to stop managing their infrastructure from a machine-centric point of view and instead manage it as a logical collection of services each of which exposes unique management capabilities.

Using HQ's powerful inventory model, you can easily monitor and manage your infrastructure from an Application perspective. This allows you to easily group your Linux platforms, Apache Virtual Hosts, MySQL tables, Webapps and other components into a single inventory resource which represents your application.

Through HQ's portal, you can then define views which stack the request rates and response time of your web tier alongside the webapp CPU consumption, JVM resource consumption, and database performance, in addition to the overall load on the platforms supporting your application. These views offer you complete control on how you choose to visualize the application's historical performance.

In addition, HQ's problem identification technology fully supports LAM-J environments by easily calling out any deviation from the baseline behavior of the entire stack. This helps HQ users minimize LAM-J infrastructure downtime, as well as gives them a unique understanding and visibility into the behavior of their infrastructure.
