MS Active Directory Management Support

A central component of the Windows platform, Active Directory directory service provides the means to manage the identities and relationships that make up network environments. Windows Server 2003 makes Active Directory simpler to manage, easing migration and deployment.

Hyperic HQ compliments its management coverage for Windows technologies with the ability to monitor and manage Active Directory. As with other Windows products, all monitoring of Active Directory is done through the Windows perflib API. This guarantees low-overhead access to each of the many metrics exposed by Active Directory by default. HQ also monitors the Windows event log for any Active Directory events which can then be recorded and tracked historically in the HQ repository. These events can also be used to trigger specific alerts for error codes specific to Active Directory.

HQ's Auto Discovery engine also automatically detects and manages all the internal services of Active Directory such as LDAP. This gives administrators very granular access to specific components of an Active Directory environment.
