HyperFORGE Sniper Program

The purpose of the FORGE Sniper Program is to encourage the community to share with others their achievements with Hyperic HQ, including HOWTOs and plugins for additional technologies managed.

How Do I Participate?

Getting started is easy. Hyperic has provided an open, editable wiki area which is great for adding contributions. Start first by reading the HyperFORGE Guidelines.

When you have something to contribute, follow the directions on the HyperFORGE, and add your HOWTO or Plugin as appropriate. If you want the plugin to be included in the next major release of Hyperic HQ, you will need to fill out a contributor release. Otherwise, the plugin will be available only on the HyperFORGE.

How do I Notify a Community Manager of My Work?

This is even easier. Community Managers monitor these spaces with daily alerts. However, to be sure that your work is done and you are satisfied with your contribution, it is best to update your contribution on the Incoming Contributors page.

We will notify you after we have been able to review your work.

What Do I Work On?

Hyperic HQ comes with over 65 different technologies managed out of the box — the largest product support available on the market. However, we realize that we can never keep up or have access to all the emerging technologies on the market today. This is where our community is invaluable, by sharing with each other your needs other community members may be able to provide help.

To help socialize what members need, we have created a Contributions Wanted section on the HyperFORGE. Please list any plugins you are looking for or working on for contribution.

What Do I Get For My Effort?

First and foremost, you get a better Hyperic HQ product to manage all your web applications and infrastructure! Of course, we appreciate your individual contributions, so that is why we are awarding points.

Points in the community help you to achieve various levels of recognition. The upper levels can win t-shirts, travel mugs and golf shirts, and even a custom Hyperic fleece!

Additionally each month, you will be reviewed to be part of the Plugin of the Month award where we recognize HyperFORGE contributions with a $250 gift certificate.
